Taper Candle Burning Tips:

Trimming Wicks

Before every burn (and including the very first burn) trim your wick to approximately 5mm in length. This will give a clean, even burn whereas a long wick can cause smoking/dripping and an uneven burn. You may also notice a “mushrooming” of the wick ("mushroom" shape, formed at the end of a candle wick after burning). To ensure a clean burn, we recommend removing the black “mushroom” before lighting your candle.

Avoid Draughts

To provide the best burn for your candle always burn your candles in a well-ventilated room, away from drafts, vents or strong air currents.  A candle in a draught may start to smoke/drip.

  • NEVER leave burning candle unattended
